The first full-scale sonix™ plant was commissioned in Kävlinge, Sweden in December 2002 and has delivered consistently good results. The worlds largest ultrasound plant will be operational at Mangere Wastewater Treatment Plant, New Zealand from early 2005.

Cost estimates for proposed installations show that full-scale systems typically have a payback period of between two and five years. Generally, the higher the energy and sludge disposal costs, the shorter the payback period.
